Even though we\u2019re all still sweating, the summer holidays are coming to an end. As I will have a school child for the first time this year, my sewing task for the next few days is to come up with a \u201cSchult\u00fcte\u201d \u2013 with a horse is the child\u2019s wish\u2026 Keep your fingers crossed that it will be ready in time with a recognizable animal on it!

September sees the start of the new pattern drafting workshop<\/strong><\/a> series with Monica Gross at the Atelier. Every Wednesday evening you can learn to create basic patterns for skirts, pants and tops according to your measurements. You can then further develop the basic pattern for a top with sleeves, collars or creative positioning of the darts in further workshops. The workshops can be booked individually or as a package. You can find the whole program on the homepage<\/a>.

Jasmin is brand new at the Atelier with the Sewing Nights<\/strong><\/a>! There are still places available for the next Sewing Night on 31 August. You will sew a pair of linen shorts in a relaxed atmosphere. During the break you will be served culinary delights and at the end the work will be celebrated with drinks and music. Julia Freytag from Carpe Diem magazine has already tested the Sewing Night for you. You can check out her experiences on the Carpe Diem Instagram<\/strong><\/a> account. The next three-hour Getting Started workshop<\/strong><\/a> will take place on 8 September. In the three hours, you will learn the basic functions of the sewing machine and gain compact basic knowledge that you can then use to immerse yourself in the world of patterns and online tutorials. The overlock workshop<\/strong><\/a> is a brand-new addition to the program. If you haven\u2019t dared to try out the machine with all those threads yet, this workshop is just right for you. In a very small group, I will show you how to thread the machine correctly and how to use it properly for jersey and woven fabrics.

This year we are taking part in the Repair Festival<\/strong> with a fabric swap event<\/strong><\/a> under the motto \u201cUse what\u2019s there\u201d! Fabrics will be swapped in the studio on 12 October. Bring some and take what you like!
